After a couple of years since my last parody commercial Oreo Rasa Listerine I'm back with another Indonesian animated commercial, and this one's a parody of commercials in general & not a specific one.

Makin' Coffee So I've sang this song a couple of years back, probably after being influenced by Brendon Urie's vines (thats why he's up there). It sounds like animation material enough soooo why not. Que Sera Parade For this one, I got the idea from randomly singing Que Sera Sera one time, intentionally with Welcome To The Black Parade lyrics & I realize these two songs can merge smoothly.

Exactly a year ago (well, maybe two weeks later) after I got accepted to work where I work now, an office friend and I recorded an improv song for fun, and for practice. The recording's kinda messy with the bad quality & me going slightly off-key sometimes from trying not to laugh, or hesitation from thinking of words. Originally this was called the Drunk Song but none of us were really drunk, just tired from all the work we did which kinda creates the high. And also the lyrics were just pretty much rambling about why we couldn't find lyrics. So meta. Went along with the red & green theme foreshadowing the "pears and strawberries" part, but added a third color occasionally for the brainstorm part. The two color schemes started out separately but they all blend in together after the drunk part. Song is in English, ramblings are in Indonesian, captions are in both languages.

Not a new art post, but a throwback and some news. Okay so I made that gif 3 years ago, based on one of the endings of GMM where R&L played in the park, & I only took the see-saw scene. Just recently, this month, someone in deviantART told me that this gif's featured in their Youtube Red show Buddy System, in season 2. I couldn't be more proud, this was the first time something I made actually got featured in a TV show. To clarify, a few months before this, one of the post-production crew contacted me via Ask.fm first, then email, asking for my permission to feature the gif on Buddy System cuz Link found it online & he liked it. tbh i'm not even sure whether i'm allowed to post his email address here. I'm still thankful for him, for reaching out to me and being an overall chill guy, and the crew, too.

Welp I'm a year late into making this video since I've already made the song and posted it up on Chirbit & Soundcloud last year. The challenge spread among famous Youtubers cuz Nigahiga started it and tagged some friends, and they tagged their other friends, yada yada etc. Usually that doesn't bother me much when everyone's doing something, but I was kinda moved to make this just because an online buddy Lorie Way (srsly go check her videos out , she's funny as balls & makes quality comedy) made hers. That to me felt like bridging the gap between famous Youtubers and pretty-much-nobodies like me, so I'm all "what the hey, I'm an embarrassing self-deprecating person. There are these flaws I like to make fun of, I'm gonna give this a go". Besides I was just done with The Name I Wanted that time. Being an alternative rock person I've never made a rap song before, and I gotta admit this is pretty hard to record, like sometimes...

After doing Queen of the Potties I decided to make a lyric video for this short song, still going with the crayon-y cover art's style. Like previously mentioned the song's taking a jab on the voyeuristic plotlines from my childhood comics. It's all innocent peeping & innocent mischief, nothing sexual, thus the line " no I'm not interested in seeing you nude, I'm just here to cringe and laugh ". The characters here are based on some Facebook friends though IRL I have no feelings of envy or peeping desire towards them. They just cameo'd randomly here. At first I compiled everything in Flash but I forgot about how incompetent Flash can get when exporting to Quicktime format, cuz some frames still leave residue and the audio quality becomes blurry, so then I turned to Premiere Pro and it did its job well. The stills are downloadable as gifs, maybe I'm gonna put it up on Google Drive or something later.

Meet a queen who's literally crappy and a guy who's literally bananas! Here it is, I managed to make a picture video for another one of mine & Tina's recordings in 2013, cuz for the first one I animated it in Flash. Now I sorta don't have time to animate a full video :( I sorta like the contrast between the Potty Queen & Banana Stasher here, the cold blue vs warm yellow, their toilet & banana aesthetics, while The Cat looks just like a normal cat. Its looks is actually based on the cat that always comes in my house every morning. And since we were high ourselves back then (probably on medication) only at the last minute I realized that the Potty Queen's similar to the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland, trying to "execute" the Banana Stasher which happens to also wear a hat. Kinda like the scene where they were gonna cut the Mad Hatter's head off but then suddenly he got saved by the Cheshire Cat. Only in here The Cat has more of ...

2017 is here and that means I gotta do something out of the usual (other than drawing this furry gemsona for a friend... well there's that.). As 2016 ends my whole family got sick and I barely had the time to draw cuz we were moving in a new house, but eventually I got hold of my pen tablet despite not being able to finish my two songs for the moment. I started animating again, bit by bit. I'm in the middle of making a lyric video with After Effects so... gifs will do for now. Gifs of my ol' pal Cangkir the Cup. Old idea from an old comic from 2010... decided to animate it now cuz finally I've got no job anymore (it's sad I know) and have plenty of time to do some animation & bring some of my comic ideas to life. The idea here is a very surreal animation with fireflies, leaves & other nature stuff getting in action. Once the title card is shown it'll make the cueless watchers realize that everything suddenly clicks. It's a tampon commercial (and a very WTF one). Also, someone should make this thing for real in the future. Imagine a jelly-like tampon (non edible though) that absorbs blood like a normally-functioning tampon, but will have the texture, feel and smell of jelly. It'll be flexible as hell when plopping in & plopping back out if it's done absorbing blood. Convenient (also perfect for making your friends freak out).

First posted in my revamp blog . Considered a revamp because I was revamping a cover design of a made-up magazine I used 3 years ago in Screen Design class. (I actually came up with the name when I was 10) The logo in the cover wasn't clean enough since I drew everything in pencil and just lazily edited everything in photoshop, applying the multiply blending mode to color. In here I sorta tried making everything neater, since some of them had to be vectorized anyway.

Because I had an idea of drawing peanuts coming out of each other one morning. Like matryoska dolls. And thus, MatryoshKacang (cuz they're peanuts. lame pun heh). But the way they come out of each other isn't like a typical matryoshka though. This is animation, I gotta get creative. That hammer looks pretty pissed off. The music is done by garageband as usual, and that melody in the beginning had been stuck in my head ever since I was 6, so I decided to use it anyway & add background melodies too. It kinda reminds me of one of my earliest animations here, done in 2009

I was gonna do an experimental animation one day, using Toon Boom Studio & After Effects. After I watched the animated music video for Secret by Luka Megurine (which I guess was animated using Anime Studio or some sort) I felt like doing something like that too, but using the softwares I know, even if it means combining all of them. Unfortunately I was loaded with university assignments & projects that time so this experiment had to back away for a bit. And after I got done with a few other animations, I finally had time to do this one. The character up there is one of my characters Seattle. I picked her cuz she's awesomely bluegreen & seemingly had to do something with anything aqua, the sea, Fall Out Boy & Owl City. And suddenly I remembered a seafruit, some kind of fruit I made up in one of my stories. With that added in with Seattle and this experimental project, and a slight reference to those two bands, this could be a music video. Sadly the instruments...

Myoo Rockin\' the Studio Started out as bits of crappy sketch animation made in Flash but continued everything using Toon Boom Studio with the help of Illustrator & Photoshop as usual. And a bit of iMovie & Premiere Pro for the sequencing. It's Myoo89 featured here btw, and she digs purple, black cats & the Union Jack, thus the guitar & the whole settings. For some reason I like how the purple dark tones & yellow highlights blend in so well in here (IMHO purple & yellow never compliment each other... until now). Kinda funny, Myoo in here looks sorta like a female version of the leadsinger of Snow Patrol in their "This Isn't Everything You Are" since he's also wearing a striped shirt & having curly hair. My final project assignment. We're free to choose whichever form of work we're doing for this project, since we've all got different expertise fields. I chose 2D animation.  Based on my old comic I did in 2008, a revamp of my even older comics in 2001.
