Poster design for Fantasea: a Musical

Image
A few months ago in my personal blog I've talked about there being a musical in Aulait Cafe that all of us are involved in (both the Aulait & Showcase staff). Well, here's the poster. The boss said we're gonna go with the bright blue one, but I still like the other versions. -- Well the date had to be postponed… so yeah. Now i'm posting these all over the mall [ Fotoplace ]

Poster Design: The Ocean & The Trash Can

Image
There was this river near where we live in Bintaro and the sad thing about it is people keep throwing their trash in it, so eventhough the good samaritans clean the lakes everyday, piles of garbage will show up the next day and that sucks for them. Sometimes I wish Jakarta has trash bins and recycle bins installed on public roads. Maybe that inspired the random thought that became this poster. I drew ocean waves cuz... i dont know why I didn't draw a river in the first place. And I feel as if I should change the tagline if I was being serious, but I'm just gonna leave it like that for comedic purposes.

Flipping Nature's Tables

Thought I might do something doodlish and whimsical again. And obviously this is inspired by Foster The People's "Supermodel" album art but since this is traditional art I can't really do a perfectly crisp one. Plus, without a scanner, this is a pretty good shot that I had of it. First, it was just an excuse to waste this orange/brown marker. And it's starting to look pretty good but after a while I figured out the lineart needs to be thickened again, this time with the help of a red inky pen. Upon coloring, I thought I could use just the orange-brown marker to doodle the background lineart, but instead it ended up too dark so I decided to color the background first with an orange color pencil and THEN draw the shapes with the marker. Sadly this way the marker will run out of ink and that's when I decided to just use a stronger brown color pencil instead. Drawn before the bright orange color pencil splashes into the bg. Initially I wanted to use ...

Poster: Eye Chart with Energy Saving Tips

Image
Here's an eye chart that looks like an eye chart from afar, but actually carries tips to save energy if you look closer and further down. I put a leaf divider on the other version just to separate the words.

Poster Design: Good & Bad Energy

Image
Another A3 environmental poster design. People have been saying over and over to replace coal burning with windmill energy (even in Greenpeace's Unfriend Coal Facebook movement) so I decided to make a poster about it. This idea is quite simple and I like the color schemes for each sides, showing the contrast of both situations. Though windmills do have their disadvantage as well, it's still an acceptable alternative to use rather than coal burning factories. Here's the alternate color scheme. At first I imagined it to have a simpler palette, more monochromatic with 1 shade of color each side, and pointilized. It sort of ended up looking like a Geography textbook illustration =_____="

Poster Design: Newspaper Pencils

Image
Another poster design I did for this whole saving the earth thing. That time all I can think of was pencils made out of newspaper (like Treesmart & Smencils, but there are lots of ordinary bootleg brand-less ones). The point is just for people to buy these as much instead of buying regular wooden pencils (though mechanical pencils are better IMO, for writing, not drawing & sketching). So why chop down more trees when you can reuse newspapers, which are initially made from trees? I made two other versions as usual: Stocks used: Newspaper Texture03 by Locololastock Pencils 001 by nocreditstock And this picture from Wikimedia

Poster Design: Save Water

Just one of the poster designs for conserving energy & saving the earth kinda stuff. The poster size is A3 btw.

Poster Design: The Iron Tablecloth

Image
My first ever poster design mock-up for an upcoming event. I won't be a judge or anything, but since I'm the one who designed this, it still looks a bit flawed in every side. But here's the thing, since the name of the tour is Iron Tablecloth itself, the poster has to contain elements of the names. For the iron part, texture is given to make the background look metal-ish. Later, the names of the bands are shaped into a tablecloth shape and underneath, rivets are given just to show the tablecloth's made out of iron. Notice the white words giving out the shiny metallic effect (which failed as well) Band list: Your Physical Violence Jamujuana The Mole and The Ostrich HackySack Geblek Tig-Ass Bitties & Dig Bicks Pink Parade FO9XI47 Metasnortosis Snow Frickin' Day Bloodwires Monotonic Winslett Disarm Enemy Ships III Bars Serifless Koize Textures (c) night-fate-stock & viv-stock

"Bloody Nail" Tampon & Pad Ads

Image
One time while still spending the holidays with my family, I got bored and colored one of my nails with my sister's gel pen. Added the blood stream just to make it cool. Took a photo despite knowing the phone camera quality sucks. And suddenly I thought of a twisted idea of making a tampon/menstrual pad commercial out of them. It just sounds lulzy I just had to make a mockup of those. And finally, THIS happened: Well not exactly a product commercial mockup, it could be just a campaign mockup. Ooh here's another one: Though I don't really know if I should show this to anyone (cuz this can be a sensitive issue to some) but really, everything I made here's just for the lulz.
