Makin' Coffee So I've sang this song a couple of years back, probably after being influenced by Brendon Urie's vines (thats why he's up there). It sounds like animation material enough soooo why not. Que Sera Parade For this one, I got the idea from randomly singing Que Sera Sera one time, intentionally with Welcome To The Black Parade lyrics & I realize these two songs can merge smoothly.

Ratryoshka · Grudges (I'm Gonna Copy Everything) This started out as a song bit or a vocal warm-up. I wrote it in 2016 after releasing The Name I Wanted, thinking that it'll be possible to make another song that year. Nope. This one had to wait three years to finish. The lyrics are obvious, like you're being bested by someone else & swore to imitate or one-up the competition to feel better, to be better, and not caring even if your dignity is destroyed in the process. The bg music sounds a bit off during the middle, cuz initially a friend pointed out something needed to be fixed but when i tried fixing it that sparked several other problems so I went with the previous unedited track. The album art's got barbed wires with nametags on them cuz when you hold a grudge against someone it binds you up in a painful way. It sorta imprisons you & you'll always remember their names, hence the nametags. Tools used: Drumbit, Garageband, Audacity, Soundbooth...

Earlier this year I was kinda curious about how a PATD song would sound like as a DDLC soundtrack, soooo this happens.... w ell actually I blame the "the ink flows down into a dark puddle" part, reminding me of "the ink is running toward the page" in Northern Downpour. That gave me the idea for this mash-up cover. This time I had to repeatedly listen to both songs WHILE in the process of making this cover, trying to get the notes right. It's still harder to control my voice & breathing though, plus I just recovered from a cold so that explains the slight phlegminess. The video accidentally got cut off in the first part, cuz halfway through drawing the iPad ran out of battery, & Procreate failed to save everything from the beginning. Since the original Northern Downpour video is black and white, I should do a B&W drawing of the Doki Doki girls as well, but somehow part of me still wants their signature color to pop out, so I picked a very desat...

Exactly a year ago (well, maybe two weeks later) after I got accepted to work where I work now, an office friend and I recorded an improv song for fun, and for practice. The recording's kinda messy with the bad quality & me going slightly off-key sometimes from trying not to laugh, or hesitation from thinking of words. Originally this was called the Drunk Song but none of us were really drunk, just tired from all the work we did which kinda creates the high. And also the lyrics were just pretty much rambling about why we couldn't find lyrics. So meta. Went along with the red & green theme foreshadowing the "pears and strawberries" part, but added a third color occasionally for the brainstorm part. The two color schemes started out separately but they all blend in together after the drunk part. Song is in English, ramblings are in Indonesian, captions are in both languages.

Follow And Feel's always been one of my fav Saosin songs besides Voices & Seven Years, I used to binge-listen to them since college, and after performing covers of Saosin songs a couple of times in the office last year, I thought I'd make a decent audible one to add to the portfolio. The music: One time I sang Follow and Feel to Havana by Camila Cabello, and later, thought of making a similar-sounding music to it when planning this Saosin cover but it still sounds generic-pop-ish, like not even remotely similar to how Havana sounds. Feels odd covering a rock song into... well, this, just cuz Garageband doesn't have enough rock stuff T~T The artwork: Initially I thought of a lady wearing a cloak spying on someone beheading a third character, supposedly a king, based vaguely on the song lyrics. But I kinda got confused and felt like drawing other things, and ended up with snakes spying on a bunny with its eyes on the biggest apple on the tree. Very children...

Second cover of the year, another favorite song since college that I've been binge-listening in the office (and one I know how to play on the piano). First off, replicating the instrumental was kinda difficult this time, I had to listen even deeper to get the drum beats right. Which is why I binge-listened. I'm not going all-piano like I did with the Bastille cover. Secondly I'm still not satisfied on how my voice turned out, I still sound audibly exhausted & out of breath here no matter how many times I record. The artwork's done in Procreate, another app with a timelapse feature. It's neater than Sketchbook Pro, I gotta say. I don't know why I drew this to go with the song, I couldn't really find the perfect theme to draw to depict contagiousness or attachment but I've got a thing for eating brains and sucking the life out of it. And the girl turned out kinda like Noodle from Gorillaz too, my friend was the first to point that out.

I decided to cover this Bastille song cuz I just learned to play this song on the piano two months ago, cuz it was one of the songs I repeatedly listened in the office. Also I was trying out Garageband on the iPad for fun, and it's easier to use there compared to using it on the laptop. also cuz this song's not as popular as Pompeii cough cough The artwork: Done in Sketchbook Pro, also on the iPad. Previously I tried streaming my screen with VLC Player but it refused to record (probably cuz my Macbook is already 6 yrs old & outdated) and then I found out Sketchbook Pro has a timelapse feature Here's the audio: I was originally gonna record individual piano parts but doing it in Garageband was easier, though I've only limited the instruments to piano-only, 'cept the bass guitar at the back. Plus I don't have to clean up more audio.

Welp I'm a year late into making this video since I've already made the song and posted it up on Chirbit & Soundcloud last year. The challenge spread among famous Youtubers cuz Nigahiga started it and tagged some friends, and they tagged their other friends, yada yada etc. Usually that doesn't bother me much when everyone's doing something, but I was kinda moved to make this just because an online buddy Lorie Way (srsly go check her videos out , she's funny as balls & makes quality comedy) made hers. That to me felt like bridging the gap between famous Youtubers and pretty-much-nobodies like me, so I'm all "what the hey, I'm an embarrassing self-deprecating person. There are these flaws I like to make fun of, I'm gonna give this a go". Besides I was just done with The Name I Wanted that time. Being an alternative rock person I've never made a rap song before, and I gotta admit this is pretty hard to record, like sometimes...

After doing Queen of the Potties I decided to make a lyric video for this short song, still going with the crayon-y cover art's style. Like previously mentioned the song's taking a jab on the voyeuristic plotlines from my childhood comics. It's all innocent peeping & innocent mischief, nothing sexual, thus the line " no I'm not interested in seeing you nude, I'm just here to cringe and laugh ". The characters here are based on some Facebook friends though IRL I have no feelings of envy or peeping desire towards them. They just cameo'd randomly here. At first I compiled everything in Flash but I forgot about how incompetent Flash can get when exporting to Quicktime format, cuz some frames still leave residue and the audio quality becomes blurry, so then I turned to Premiere Pro and it did its job well. The stills are downloadable as gifs, maybe I'm gonna put it up on Google Drive or something later.

So two months ago I released this song (written last year) on Chirbit, and only got time to make its lyric video this month. Here we are at the cafe next door (under the same management as the job agency & print shop we work in). We only sang two songs so far cuz we didn't practice enough & can't stay up that late, but that's alright.

I was gonna do an experimental animation one day, using Toon Boom Studio & After Effects. After I watched the animated music video for Secret by Luka Megurine (which I guess was animated using Anime Studio or some sort) I felt like doing something like that too, but using the softwares I know, even if it means combining all of them. Unfortunately I was loaded with university assignments & projects that time so this experiment had to back away for a bit. And after I got done with a few other animations, I finally had time to do this one. The character up there is one of my characters Seattle. I picked her cuz she's awesomely bluegreen & seemingly had to do something with anything aqua, the sea, Fall Out Boy & Owl City. And suddenly I remembered a seafruit, some kind of fruit I made up in one of my stories. With that added in with Seattle and this experimental project, and a slight reference to those two bands, this could be a music video. Sadly the instruments...
